Farewell Lal Sahab

Here are some selective Ash’aar from a Sukhanfaham evening that we shared with Lal Sahab in December 2006 (India). The full video is here. Enjoy this recital from a memorable evening in Lal Sahab’s Voice. Neither him nor I know the names of Sho’ara who wrote these Ash’aar.

Just heard from my Father that Lal Sahab passed away couple days ago in Delhi. Memorable evenings of Urdu Poetry and lively discussions shall surely be missed. May he find peace.

Exhilarating!! He is scheduled for a session with me tomorrow. He gets a thrill out of listening to his own recordings. I’m sure the old man will enjoy your attention. He is 87 and unchanged!!

B.M. Lal. […]
