I received the first sher of this Ghazal directly through my Late Grandfather Shri. GN Kaushik in a dream (on the plight of mass suicides by farmers back then in Maharashtra).
This is a Ghazal written by Kaifi Azmi sahab in form of a tribute to Guru Dutt. Guru Dutt (supposedly) committed suicide in 1964. Kuchh doston ke israar par Qateel Shifaai ki ek Ghazal pesh hai..
Kayi roz hue, padhna hi muhaal ho gaya hai. Chand Ash’aar pesh hain. Pehle sher me ‘Faakir’ ka tasavvur qqabil e gaur hai. Nida Fazli ka maarmik sher aur Daagh ki sukhanfahami bhi apni jagah hai. Aakhiri do Ash’aar ke Shayar se mai waakif nahi. Enjoy!
