Wanderlust

Mountain Kids in Khajjiar

Here’s a poem by my friend’s younger sister, a Young poetess named Jahnavi. The poem brings back my Khajjiar trip to mind. The unknown paths of Himalayas and the beauty within. The picture is just one of the ones Nikhil and I took when we were there. Couple mountain kids waving to us! Enjoy the poem. The title is Wanderlust.

I want to travel the world
See new places and get bowled
A mountain here, a rainbow there
And nature’s beauty everywhere

My heart longs for a place
With all the world’s beauty and grace
I would love to live there all day
And explore the environs and play

It’s good to pack a bag and go away
And make friends while on the way
Life becomes beautiful, as they say
It gets exciting each passing day

Just try and live like a gypsy
Who knows, you’ll never be that busy
And when I think of a word, which is just
All that comes to my mind is, Wanderlust!

    Hi Gautam,
That is a wonderful poem by your friend’s sister, Jahnavi. So much beauty and a glimpse into a nature lover’s heart. We need to live life like a gipsy once in a while and find true joy. She sounds just like you.
