Bande ka Aadaab…
I would like to thank My Grandfather, Late Mr. Gopinath Kaushik, for if it wasn’t for his genes and blessings, I don’t think I would have ever been attracted to Urdu. It is a language that can be enthralling yet unimaginably complex at times. Being a novice, I can only learn and be fascinated by its eternal aura.
Some of the master Urdu poets that I deeply respect and learn from are Mirza Ghalib, Ustaad Zauq, Bahadurshah Zafar, Kaifi Azmi, Jaan Nisaar Akhtar, Sahir Ludhianvi, Sudarshan Faakir and many more.
I’ll be constantly updating this page on a regular basis.
Thanks for stopping by!

I seek an image in everything. From a drop of the early spring rain to a shivering bird when it snows. The charisma in all life forms never fails to make me ponder. Born in a small town in India, I started writing in high school, though nothing serious came of it until college. Most of my poems feature my experiences and real people I’ve met at different stages of this life. This is a nostalgic collection of poems enwrapped with love and serenity that a heart longs for.
Over the years, I have received emails from innumerable number of people, some of which were so nice that I saved them and never deleted them. Please drop me a line if you have any comments/feedback for any of my Writings, Songs, or general comments about the design of the web site. I will be glad to hear from you.
Thanks for stopping by and May Sages be with You!

When my Heavens were turned to blood
When the dark had filled my day
Furthest, but most faithful, stood
The lone star I cast away.
I had loved myself, and I
Have not lived and dare not die.
~Rudyard Kipling
Welcome and thanks for stopping by my site. This site is merely my attempt to bring to you my works in form of English and Urdu Poetry, my Original Compositions & Musical Collaboration with some friends, Articles and Anecdotes other than random musings. I also present works of other artists, poets and performers from time to time. Take a moment to look around, peruse, read or leave a comment.
I’ve seen some hard times but it’s been a good life all in all, for it’s good to have a chance to hang around. Despite everything, each morning I look at the birds and the warm sun shining behind the clouds - and I realize that I still have another song to sing - another tale to tell.
May be tomorrow, when winds aren’t cold and sun’s a bit warmer, I’ll tell you another story…

Born in Hisar and brought up in Rohtak (India), I’ve always been a balladeer at heart. Regardless of the circumstances that I’ve done most of my writing in, I still cherish all the words that I have penned, for that’s the only reason I’m still here. This site features just a glimpse at my work and hopefully you will get to see the rest in my First Book and more if you run into me on some random path of life.I believe the best way to touch someone’s heart is through your words.
Free time, which is rare to come by finds me writing and composing songs in English & Hindi on my Guitar, doing Nature Photography, keeping up to date with latest Tech/Indian/World/Cricket News and working out.
Check out some of my childhood and US pictures here and some of my more recent pictures including my meeting with Ruskin Bond and trip to Himalayas - here!
I’ve been playing Guitar since June 2006. I’m self taught but I have learnt some ropes from my cousin, and have picked up some things from my friend Nikhil. You will find Nikhil and my collaboratory work on this site under Music. I started writing back in December 2001 and have traveled some distance since then. I stepped into the world of Urdu Poetry in 2003 and have since written about 60 Ghazals, Nazms and a few Geets. I dedicate my interest in Urdu Poetry to my late Grandfather, Mr. Gopinath Kaushik, who himself was a master of many languages including Urdu. Other than that Urdu Poetry runs in our family. My Grandfather (Dadaji) was himself a connoisseur of Urdu Poetry.
Last year towards the end of my sabbatical in India, I was able to write and compose a few ballads (Nazms, Geets, and few in English), some of which I have put up on this site. Feel welcome to provide your comments or criticism. I am content with my tag of a Troubadour, which is what I mostly like to do. Writing to express and more importantly - writing for others is something I cherish.
Thanks for stopping by my site and feel welcome to leave a comment for any of my musings.
