Laut Aa Ek Pal – In Himalayas

During my train Journey back to Uttarakhand this week, a lot of things went through my mind as I watched different shades of life zip by from my window; children playing in villages, anxious passengers waiting for their train, indifferent cows grazing without a care, women working in the fields, and so on..

Written & Composed on 11 September 2013
Sitla Village, Uttarakhand (-Gautam Dhar 'Zafar')

All in all, it was a ride that reminded me of a Ruskin Bond Story “Time stops in Shamli”. Anyhow, the buzzing continued and left me with a song 2 days ago. Before I said goodbye to my ex-students at Sri Aurobindo Ashram, Delhi earlier this week, one of my students requested me to write a song that could make one cry. I’m not sure if he’d be content with it, but penning it down surely drained me. Thanks for listening.
