Love Letters in the Sand

My brother and I used to listen to Pat Boone quite a bit in high school esp. this song. I tried to put it on Guitar after listening to it after many many years. Hopefully the Baritone voice won’t scare you away 🙂

First published in 1931, this is Pat Boone’s rendition that made top of the charts in 1957.

Words:

On a day like today We pass the time away
Writing love letters in the sand
How you laughed when I cried
Each time I saw the tide
Take our love letters from the sand

You made a vow that you would ever be true
But somehow that vow meant nothing to you

Now my broken heart aches
With every wave that breaks
Over love letters in the sand
