Crossroads in My Life

Dec 28 2009

Started writing this on the midnight of 11th December and recorded a sketch version the next morning. Just a folk poem with a simple melody. Still working out the chinks in the music.
Hope you mates enjoy it!

Words:

Now I’ve come to the cross-roads
In my life and I will say
I still dream of tomorrow
When the stars will show the way
Yes I say

Now we stand here together
Still apart, so far away
There’s a time there’s a season
When the feeling must go away
Yes I say

Oh the valleys and the sea
I long to be in arms of thee
I’ll sail away – hey wild and free

When the rain comes-a-calling
At my door – Yes I’ll sing
Sing to you – there’s a story
Of a Maiden & the king
Yes I’ll sing

Oh the forest and the stream
I wish I were in arms of thee
I’ll sing along, come sing with me

Here I stand at the cross-roads
In my life and I must say
I still dream of tomorrow
When forever we will stay
Yes I say.

My first time visiting your site,Gautam, and have truly enjoyed reading your posts. This song, especially, struck a familiar sentiment, for me....beautiful. 🙂

I think I've found just the complementary man for my best favourite friend. She will simply be overwhelmed to meet you.

    Hi Gautam,
I am enjoying all your music which brings my memory of 60s to recent which reminds me the great musicians like Nat King Cole,Tom Bennette, Sammy Davis Jr., Pat Boone,Tom Petty, Garth Brook, Kenny Rogers and so on...If your music is so great and touchy around five years ago, think about now in open sky of Himalayan nature.I can see you as a shining star in music..Lets enjoy some more.....Om
