Inqalaab Sulagta Hai

This weekend, Nikhil and I finished composing one of our best songs so far and I, on the other hand, finished a Nazm that had been in my mind all this past week. I would like to dedicate this Nazm to all the down-trodden Women who put up with the daunting task of eking out a life for themselves and their families. People who take little things for granted must stop and look around and remove the garb of arrogance and ignorance. This is the hour to lend a helping hand, as I have realized lately. Helping the needy is not charity, it’s everyone’s Obligation.

Meanwhile, enjoy the Nazm, which is a slight continuance from the last one, Chalo Dafn Karo.

Here’s a recording that I just made of the recitation for Non-Hindi readers [13 OCT 2009] [audio:http://gdhar.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/Gautam%20Dhar%20-%20Inqilaab%20Sulagta%20Hai%20Kahin.mp3]

Beautiful Nazm. Premchand would’ve been proud of you.
But you must also look at the glass as half full. Instead of seeing it often as half empty.

    Hi Gautam,

I couldn’t help notice similarities with an old nazm of Sahir.

Aaj ki raat bahut sard hawa chaltee hai,
aaj ki raat na futpaath pe neend aayegi…

Have you read/heard this particular nazm?

    Neeraj

Yes, I have read that. I think I read it first almost 20 years ago. It’s by Kaifi Azmi sahab, not Sahir Ludhianvi. However, mine was written from a very different view point.
    Thanks for stopping by mate!
