I wandered today to the hills to watch the creek below..and someone wise whispered that each breath we take is a pearl that must be cherished. Each moment lived with constant awareness shall see us live this life with neither pain nor pleasure, but with a sense of equanimity.

Diwali followed by my birthday in a remote village in Himachal where we took long walks amidst fallen autumn leaves of Chinar trees, spent time in meditation and singing songs...far away from the smoke strained air of Gurgaon. The first snow of the season earlier this morning on the Dhauladhar ranges in the backdrop set our minds aglow. Someday we will make these hills our home and until then we aspire to carry back the learnings, the vibration and some faded autumn leaves 🔥🙏

This is my daring attempt to sing this melodious Kashmiri Folk Song. There are a lot of different versions of this song out there so I modified according to my own taste and strumming. For the record *I can not speak Kashmiri* so it was quite an effort getting the pronunciation right as I bugged a lot of people and picked the verses that I could sing 🙂

Nundbane - translates to "the apple of my eye" in Kashmiri. In this song, the lady protagonist playfully beckons her paramour to her in a loving, joyful harmony!

This song is dedicated to my wonderful wife, Dr Varuna Raina. I recorded this last night on the eve of our sixth Wedding Anniversary at 2am.
