I Won’t Forget You
September 14th, 2008
I wanted to try a Classical Guitar that I got from someone this week and decided to record this song by Jim Reeves. Recorded in early 60s, this song was a chart buster on UK charts right when Jim Reeves died in an Airplane Crash in 1964. My humble tribute to one of the greatest Crooners of all time. It was pretty hard to do justice to Jim’s Baritone Voice. Bear with the noise!
- Lyrics:
I know that I won’t forget you
For I’ve loved you too much for too long
Though you don’t want me now
I’ll still love you
’til the breath in my body has gone
That’s how it is with me
And you’ll always be
The only love i ever knew
I’ll forget many things in my life time
But my darling i won’t forget you
That’s how it is with me
And you’ll always be
The only love i ever knew
I’ll forget many things in my life time
But my darling i won’t forget you.

Cool man!! Seen you first time singing so calm and composed with nary a tense nerve on your face.
Was that you whistling ? Or was it play acting. Great stuff. For an introvert like you it is amazing whistling comes so naturally.
Enjoyed your song with the morn tea.

I have heard many songs of Jim Reeves. This is one among them. His songs are loved by Christians very much and made popular by the Church institutions. Though his songs may be sublime I love songs of general nature universally enjoyed by all. I think Elvis Presley will be better for all and because of this fact his songs are top most even today besides songs by my favourite singers, The Beatles!

Shukriya Dhar sahab. Hope your tea tasted good with the song. TA, thanks for coming. ELvis and Beatles are surely both legends, but Jim Reeves had his own niche amongst crooners.
