Meri Waaqif Hai at Rohtak

Here is a video that we made last September while I was in India. Lal Sahab came over one evening feeling a little sick, so we held a Shaam e Sukhan to uplift his spirits. I recited a Nazm Meri Waaqif Hai for him, which I had written a few days ago prior to the evening (for Sapna). It was again an enjoyable evening with Lal Sahab later digging deep into his memory and reciting works of some Great Sho’ara. Meanwhile, enjoy the video. I seem to be yelling in the video because Lal Sahab has a hearing problem and he doesn’t always wear his hearing aid.

Absolutely, If you look at it. The quality is so superb with minimal pixelation. Compared to Google Videos and YT, Blip’s the best!

I am glad you posted this video…the previous audio clip was amazing..but the video definitely takes it a step further as u recite your Nazm for Lal Sahab..I am guessing he is your mentor and possibly the reason for your love for urdu poetry…

Yes we share a special bond. He doesn;t write but has kept a diary of writing of diff poets for last 50 yrs or even more. He does guide me with my talaffuz
