Kyun Baithe Ho Gumsum
January 23rd, 2008

This is a song that an old friend of mine, Arvin had written back in September while I was in India, and asked me to compose it for a Stand Up Speak Out event organized by the Art of Living Foundation at Rohtak. One evening him and I sat down and I came up with a tune in E major. Here is a trial recording from that time. A song that talks about hope and coming together, which was the theme of the event. Arvin and his Rohtak based band, Neuro Fires performed it at the event.
Here is the MP3 of the recording.

I had modified the lyrics slightly to go with the music.

Is this your first independent composition? Great effort.
The shaayar in you comes out clearly in your accent. Gulzar would probably render an identical number.

Thanks Sapna and Ashwini! Pita ji, this isn’t the first. First one from the recent lot was http://gdhar.com/2007/09/18/dil-ko-ye-tere which I composed in September. Interestingly, I made up the tune when we were at Prakash General Store
