Miles to go before I sleep

Robert Frost

Yesterday I found that I have a great collection of Robert Frost poems and some of his videos on a CD. Here’s one of his best known poems of all time, which he recites in his own voice. Indeed…I too have some promises to keep on my own. Enjoy! Here is the MP3 of the poem.

Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.

My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.

He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound’s the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.

The woods are lovely, dark and deep.
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

    Yes, we all make promises in life. We live to fulfil all our promises in the world. Till we fulfil our promises we cannot have an eternal sleep. We have to go miles and miles. Men may come and men may go, but we should go on forever till we complete our mission.
