Chupke Chupke Raat Din

Almost anyone who is into Urdu Poetry has heard this Ghazal. The most popular version is by Ghulam Ali. I personally rate this Ghazal as one of the most romantic pieces ever written by any Shayar. Har sher tasavvur ki sarhadon ko laanghtaa hua nazar aata hai. Pay attention to the 2nd, 6th and the 9th couplet.
This Ghazal was written on a terrace in Ballimaraan (Mirza Ghalib’s home area) by a youthful Hasrat Mohani who had fallen in love with a girl living in the next house. She would often come to the terrace on the pretext of drying clothes…

This is one of the great ghazal ever written. Its my favourate ghazal. An excellent peotry by Hasart Mohani Saheb, a great Shayar (Poet). And beautifully sang by Ustaad Ghulaam Ali Saab, Here is a Youtube link ….
