Dreams Never Die

There she stood ‘neath the hot summer sun
It seemed like she’d never been away
Well I’d been long in September of my years
I could swear it was only yesterday

She gave me a smile and I softly said
“It’s been too long since you’ve been gone”
She said, “I dreamed of you every night”
Listening to the sound of the night bird’s song

Plays of our childhood, castles in the wind
Every little thing just filled my mind
She was the one who stole my heart
But I’d lost it all – all that was mine

We sat there talking of old dusty lanes
Songs we’d sung, oh somewhere in time
While I’d been a rover traveling alone
She’d moved on leaving memories behind

The hours passed by as the sun went down
And I realized how I’d missed her so
Lord, if the night could make me a child
I’d say it all what she’ll never know

What she softly said I never could forget
“Some dreams in this life, they must fade away”
I couldn’t help but think about the song
“Love, I’ll sing for you forever and today”

Then she held my hand and gave me a smile
Guess she knew it all why dreams never die
“Goodbye my dear”, was all she could say
And I turned away ‘fore she saw me cry
Here by the fire back in my mountains
I’ll sing for her till life’s passed me by.

Man lives in dreams. Dreams keep up his spirit alive forever. You only live twice, you know. One for your dreams and one for your Self. Yes, to make you alive dreams never dies. Good Bye.
